As 2020 comes to an end, we at ÅVONTUURA would like to wish you all very happy holidays and season’s greetings. It’s now been 3 years since we first started sharing the best architecture projects and city guides from around the world, and we couldn’t do it without your continued readership and support.

Escape to this Norwegian Hiking Cabin above the Arctic Circle by SPINN and FORMAT

In the summer of 2015, the Hammerfest chapter of The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) decided to build two simple warming huts to promote hiking in the mountains around town. The brief was simple – “we imagine a small hiking cabin with good windows that has a wood burning stove and simple benches, placed near the top of the mountain and designed such that it suits the terrain”.
